“Can we Escape to Space on a Fighter Jet?”
Since our childhood days we have been curious about fighter jets and space flights. The very thought of escaping to space on an aeroplane would have crossed every school kid’s mind. For all the curious people out there wondering why can’t we escape to space, “Virtual Flight Test Centre” has undertaken a test flight on F-15C Eagle on the Digital Combat Simulator. The aircraft has been flown to the ceiling height for demonstrating aspects pertaining to Coffin Corner, True Air Speed(TAS) variation with Indicated Air Speed (IAS) etc. The data extraction from the simulator has been done using a custom Lua program. “Dashware” software has been used to overlay the data over the video for better assimilation.
